Hello Fellow Quilters, Crafters and Sewists!
Fall is finally in the air (at least in fits and starts)! If you haven’t noticed that everything is suddenly “Pumpkin Spice” flavor, we’re here to remind you to dive into that stash and make some fun projects for Autumn’s favorite holiday: Halloween!
Now, any large project was hopefully started ages ago. That doesn’t mean that we’re too late in the season for a few more crafty things as the fall leaves change color and we start comparing apple cider recipes. With the weather getting a little chilly and the kids and grandkids back in school, fall is the perfect time to really get those creative juices flowing!
Sew… (get it?) we were combing through the interwebs and Pinterest for a few good projects that could be completed easily before the big Trick or Treat day. With time a consideration, we looked for things that could be completed in a few hours or a weekend that would be fun and really capture the “Boo-tiful” fall spirit of the season. So, for the next few weeks, we thought we’d share!
First up, this fabulous witches hat! You can download the pattern for FREE from the Marcus Bros. site here: Witch’s Hat Pattern. The design features both flannels and cottons. If you look through your stash, you might be able to find something cute to use. We were playing around in the store and found a TON of great options! Check out flannels “A Simpler Time”, “Simpler Times Leaf”, “Cozy Flannel”, “Majestic Sky”, “Galaxy Black Flannel”, “Wildrose Wovens”, or “Flannel Elements”. Accents could be anything in our Halloween “Featured” section. It would be easy to go from spooky to wicked witch to Hogwarts depending on your combinations and colors. The sky is the limit!
Speaking of Hogwarts... Eating Bender has one of the best Harry Potter themed parties we’ve ever seen! Everything from the floating candles to the Butterbeer Recipe are just the stuff of legendary parties! And how can you not just love a Sorting Hat pita bread???
So have some fun and get creative! Share any other great quick projects! Let us know what YOU are doing this Halloween below in the COMMENT section.
Oh! And stay tuned for next week when we share another fun quickie Halloween project.
Until then… HAPPY QUILTING!
